It is the government's job to check the quality of Prasad in the temple, Supreme Court refused to hear the case 

The Supreme Court has refused to hear the demand for making rules to ensure the quality of the Prasad distributed in temples. The bench headed by Justice BR Gavai has said that it is not the job of the court to decide this. There is already a provision regarding this in the Food Safety Act. People can use it if they want. On behalf of the petitioner named Preeti Harihar Mahapatra, it was said that Prasad is being distributed in temples across the country without any proper investigation. This needs to be regularised. The controversy over Tirupati Laddu Prasad was also cited in the petition. The Supreme Court has already ordered an investigation into that matter. Senior advocate Dama S. appearing for the petitioner. Naidu said that his petition is not against anyone. But in public interest there is a need to regularize the distribution of Prasad. On this, bench member Justice KV Vishwanathan said that there is a provision in the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 to keep food items safe for the people. If in any case there is a question regarding the quality of the Prasad, then the petitioner should use it.
